Dr.
Michael Safdi, M.D.
Dr. Michael Safdi performed
his undergraduate studies at Johns Hopkins University, where
he was elected to the premedical honor society. He graduated
from the University of Cincinnati Medical School, where he was
elected to AOA Medical Honor Society in his third year. Dr.
Michael Safdi completed both his Residency in Internal Medicine
and his Gastroenterology Fellowship at the University of California
at San Diego and he spent ten months at Scripps Clinic & Research
Foundation for further clinical training. He is Board Certified
in Internal Medicine and in Gastroenterology and is a Fellow
of the American College of Physicians and of the American College
of Gastroenterology (ACG).
Dr. Michael Safdi has served 2 terms on the
Board of Trustees and as a five-term Governor for
the Southern Ohio Region and as a Regional Counselor for the
ACG. Mike spent 5 years as the
Gastroenterology Representative on the Medicare Carrier
Advisory Committee for the State of Ohio. He
currently represents the ACG on a national committee trying to
unify all internal medical specialties regarding reimbursement
issues. With Dr. Mark Jonas, Mike is a co-director of
Gastroenterology for resident education at Jewish Hospital. In 1996,
he received a Distinguished Leadership Award from the Crohn's
and Colitis Foundation of America. He also currently
serves as a Surveyor for the Accreditation Association for Ambulatory
Health Care (AAAHC). He has also served on the
Executive Committee of Jewish Hospital. Mike has an
interest in all clinical research with a special emphasis in peptic
ulcer disease, GERD, inflammatory bowel disease, colon cancer
and colon polyps. Dr Safdi has published over
30 peer reviewed articles on a variety of topics. |
